Motivational Posters From The 1920s

Motivational Posters From The 1920s:

"How did marketers and employers encourage people in the 1920s and 30s? It was quite a different era back then as most ads played up masculine ideals and virtues. But have times actually changed? There’s still plenty of emphasis on results and not excuses, on test performance and putting on a strong show in front of others. Very masculine ideals.

The problem is, these masculine ideals are actually how marketers and employers encouraged workers during the time before and during the Great Depression. That’s according to the work by Brett and Kate McKay at The Art of Manliness who put together a walk down memory lane that I thought would be informative and interesting. What do you think? Would these posters have a spot in your school?"
