What is a teacher?

Experience is a good teacher, but she sends in terrific bills.

A teacher's purpose isn't to create students in his own image, but to develop students who can create their own image.

A teacher's failure to create an intellectually reflective, engagement for learning is not simply malpractice but it is immoral particularly for students who cannot withdraw.

The best teacher is the one who suggests rather than dogmatizes, and inspires his listener with the wish to teach himself.

A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.

Time is a great teacher, but unfortunately it kills all its pupils.

Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterward.

Teachers open the door, but you must enter by yourself.

Good teachers are those who know how little they know. Bad teachers are those who think they know more than they don't know.

Quite frankly, teachers are the only profession that teach our children. Dan Quayle.

My problems all started with my early education. I went to a school for mentally disturbed teachers.

There are no bad students, only bad teachers.

All the technology in the world doesn't matter if you don't have a teacher who is willing to use it to teach.

Technology doesn't improve education, it changes it......TEACHERS improve education

Teachers have the right to hide in a cave but they don't have the right to drag students with them

What the teacher is, is more important than what he teaches.

Instruction begins when you, the teacher, learn from the learner; put yourself in his place so that you may understand... what he learns and the way he understands it.

Governments trust teachers less now than ever - yet teachers are better educated now more than ever.

The true teacher defends his pupils against his own personal influence. He inspires self-trust. He guides their eyes from himself to the spirit that quickens him. He will have no disciple.

Teachers open the door, but you must enter by yourself.

And remember, a good teacher doesn't need technology; technology needs good teachers

I like a teacher who gives you something to take home to think about besides homework.

Teachers need to model the use of Tech in class. Students will not see the tech after a while only its effects.

We currently have Captain Kangaroo teachers instructing Gameboy students.

Any teacher that can be replaced by a computer deserves to be.

Teacher need to integrate technology seamlessly into the curriculum instead of viewing it as an add-on, and afterthought or an event.

There can be infinite uses of the computer and of new age technology, but if the teachers themselves are not able to bring it into the classroom and make it work, then it fails.

It is important to remember that educational software, like textbooks, is only one tool in the learning process.

Neither can be a substitute for well-trained teachers, leadership, and parental involvement.

No one, not even a farmer, works as hard as a caring teacher, but there is nothing lazier than an uncaring one.

Creativity is a type of learning process where the teacher and pupil are located in the same individual.

Ideally teachers today can no longer be the fountain of all knowledge but must instead be a facilitator of learning.

We need to change from teacher-centered thinking to learner-centered thinking

Teachers, we trust you with our children, but not the Internet...

Parent to school board: You are distracting our teachers. Let them do what they do best.

The longer I teach, the less I talk.

A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.

As a teacher I feel I have a moral obligation to help the children in my classroom grow toward becoming full human beings and to feel successful. Teaching cognitive skills is not enough...

Three things give the student the possibility of surpassing his teacher: ask a lot of questions, remember the answers, teach.

Instruction begins when you, the teacher, learn from the learner; put yourself in his place so that you may understand . . . what he learns and the way he understands it.

Good teachers are costly, but bad teachers cost more.

Only a teacher? Thank God I have a calling to the greatest profession of all! I must be vigilant every day lest I lose one fragile opportunity to improve tomorrow.

In a completely rational society, the best of us would be teachers and the rest of us would have to settle for something less.

The teacher is one who made two ideas grow where only one grew before

Passive acceptance of the teacher's wisdom is easy to most boys and girls. It involves no effort of independent thought, and seems rational because the teacher knows more than his pupils; it is moreover the way to win the favour of the teacher unless he is a very exceptional man. Yet the habit of passive acceptance is a disastrous one in later life. It causes man to seek and to accept a leader, and to accept as a leader whoever is established in that position.

Good teachers are those who know how little they know. Bad teachers are those who think they know more than they don't know.

No teacher should be required to accept in a class any individual whose conduct habitually interferes with the teaching of others.

Courses in education given at...teachers' colleges have traditionally been used as a substitute for genuine scholarship. In my opinion, much of the so-called science of "education" was invented as a necessary mechanism for enabling semi-educated people to act as tolerable teachers.

Teachers are people who start things they never see finished, and for which they never get thanks until it is too late.

The object of teaching a child is to enable him to get along without a teacher.

The chief wonder of education is that it does not ruin everybody concerned in it, teachers and taught.

The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates.
